They All go Home

They all go home,
leaning on the arms
of their chosen loves
laughter fading into
the gathering dusk

They all go home,
silence dense and
enlarged, like a woodland
in the absence
of bird and leaf

They all go home
but she who wanders
returning the stares of
empty chairs
looking for love

  1. You've captured the eerie quality in the photo with your words ~ love it Janet!

Also, been meaning to tell you I like the background change ~ very wintry :)

Woke up to a rainy and dreary Monday here, hope it's not like that up where you are (I'm hoping for at least a little sunshine today!)

  2. You sense hope in the mist and emptiness? So evenly expressed in this poem!

  6. Very nice.

I especially like "a woodland in the absence of a bird or leaf."
