Christmas Song of Praise

Come, join our song and celebrate
This tent wherein we dwell
Will pass away, yet hope remains
Beyond Time’s transient swell
For He who came to Bethlehem
In form of helpless flesh
Has conquered sin’s dark diadem
With Truth and Righteousness

Come join, our song of hope and joy
Though groaning ages roll
With mortal life and death’s alloy
Immortal is the soul
And for this soul that never dies
A tender Offering came
Wee babe in Bethlehem

Come join our song, for grace and love
Redeems the sinner’s guilt
To be a Lamb’s blood split
For none are righteous, no, not one
But now, only by Him
Our sinful state is reconciled
Through Christ of Bethlehem

Come join our song, we cannot cease
His praise, Jesus, Jesus
In Bethlehem the Prince of Peace
Came down to earth for us
And through this travail here below
On sorrow-stricken sod
We sing His praise because we know
Soon we will be with God

Merry Christmas to all and may His Reason fill our season and beyond.

Forever God

Turn of the volume...sing it out!

On the throne
Above the ages
There abides
Eternal Truth
On the earth
Eden’s curse rages
As we suffer
Sin’s abuse
Fear and failure
Spill their anguish
On the cold
And calloused sod
Grace and mercy
Never languish
Testifying
He is God

Time reveals
Truth’s certain harvest
Sinful seeds
Bear consequence
But the Father
Of compassion
Ever pleads
In our defense
Death would be
Our sure damnation
But for heaven’s
Tender rod
Our sin
For His salvation
What a Savior
What a God

No cross of earth
Is foreign to Him
For the cross
Of Calvary
Bore affliction,
Persecution
Slain Perfection;
Victory
Fear not, fear not
Oh troubled traveler
For wherever
We may trod
God is still
Holy, immortal
And forever
Ever God

In His hands
He holds time’s morsel
We are not
Damned to the grave
Perfect Love will
Conquer evil
He is mightier
To save
Come, join the throng
Of hallelujahs
Nature swells
In joyful laud
As we exalt
Master, Creator
Alpha and Omega
God

Don't Let Go...

For every up there is a down
For every high there is a low
For every love there is someone
Hold my hand and don’t let go

For every joy, oh there is grief
With every wonder there is woe
For every bud there is a leaf
Hold my hand and don’t let go

For every smile there is a tear
For every tear there is a crown
For every hope there is a fear
For every up there is a down
For every triumph there’s despair
For every gain, something to lose
For every trouble there is prayer
It’s up to you and me to choose
For every high there is a low
Only, only love secures
Hold my hand and don’t let go
Hold my hand and I’ll hold yours

For every night there is a day
For every day a night to rest
For every doubt there is a way
For every better there is best
For every road there is an end
For every yes there is a no
And for each other, there’s a friend
Hold my hand and don’t let go
Oh darling, hold my hand
And
Don’t let go

Dancing in the Rain

Yiruma always makes me feel like writing:)...love songs

Let me love you
Darling, let’s stop keeping score
Starting over
Is not what I am asking for
But just another
Day-opportunity
To love you, darling
Like I thought that love would be

Let me love you
What if this day were our last?
Would its memory
Be the one that we hold fast?
It’s so easy
To forget what we live for
And all I’m asking
Is for one loving-you-day more

Let me love you
Only death makes it too late
To keep on trying
Let me love you, then today
This flesh-blood offering
Is all that I can give
But oh, my darling
Let me love you thus
Each day I live

…and let me love you
Like a slow-dance in the rain
I want nothing
But a day-chance to try again
Starting over
Is not what I’m asking for
But just to love you,
Oh my darling
Just to love you one day more

Tell Me Again

Tell me again,
Who formed the earth and heaven?
Tell me again
Who parted the Red Sea?
Tell me again, why is it I’m forgiven
When my birthright
Is my iniquity?

Tell me again,
Who left His throne in Heaven?
A perfect Lamb
To be sin’s sacrifice
Tell me again, why is it I’m forgiven
When it is I
So guilty of its price?

Tell me again
A thousand times I’ve heard it
The debt I owed
No riches could afford
Yet, I am free, not because I earned it
But through the blood
Of Jesus Christ the Lord

Tell me again
May I never grow weary
Of this great joy
Of this, a sinner’s boast
Creator, Lord, Redeemer, God of mercy
Left Heaven’s throne
Because He loves us most

 Cho. Tell me again,
Who formed the earth and heaven?
Tell me again
Who parted the Red Sea?
Tell me again, why is it I’m forgiven
When my birthright
Is my iniquity?

Tell me again
May I never grow weary
Of this great joy
Of this, a sinner’s boast
Creator, Lord, Redeemer, God of mercy
Paid sin’s great debt
Because He loves us most

Infinite Incomprehension

He made Himself
But clothed in flesh
Supreme I AM
In his image
Became a Lamb

Who can explain
Such humble mercy?
Love unrestrained
Beneath hatred’s blow
Who can explain
Compassion so perfect
As agony wept

Sweet incomprehension
I cannot grasp it
A King leaves His throne
To die on a cross
So we, wretched men
May pierce hatred’s darkness
As He shines through us

How I abhor
My rebellious nature
As I consider
God; putting on
Man’s filthy stature
Majesty serving
The hand with a sword

Immaculate Offering
Seals our redemption
Atonement of sin
To tell of His grace
May I never grow weary
To tell of His love
Where can I begin?

For He made Himself
Of no reputation
Clothing in flesh
Supreme I AM
Nothing desirable
In His image
Love Immortal
Became a Lamb

Only Love

By this all men
Will surely know
That we are His disciples
Throughout the land
Its proof will show
From people unto people
By this all men
Cannot deny
The Truth of whom we follow
Throughout the world
His Light will shine
As we love one another

One tiny spark
Will pierce the dark
One act will fill an ocean
No one can quell
The holy swell
That pours from love’s devotion
And none can dim
The Light of Him
Its halo is unshaken
Its power pure
Its hope secure
Its enemy o’er-taken

By this all men
Will surely know
That we are His disciples
For as we love
Thus we will prove
The I AM infallible
And then all men
Will surely know
The One True God of Heaven
For only love
Will truly show
That we have been forgiven

Only love
Yes, only love
Will prove our tongue’s confession
And only love,
Yes, only love
Is heaven’s sacred passion
And only love
Yes, only love
Will witness to the people
By this all men
Will truly know
That we are His disciples

Song of Grace

But by the grace of God go I
See how the rain falls from the sky
See how the spring time spawns new birth
How summer wheat leaps from the earth
Humbly, I lift my voice and cry
But by the grace of God go I

But by the grace of God go I
See how the fledgling learns to fly
See how the baby learns to walk
How corn hangs heavy on the stalk
And all that I can do is cry
But by the grace of God go I

But by the grace of God go I
We are born, we live; we die
The only boast within life’s hour
Is what is rendered by His power
As we join nature’s hymn to cry
But by the grace of God go I

Blue...

To write away sorrow
And missing you
Are more than a pen
Is able to do

To smooth from my mind
Your eyes and your lips
Are tasks far too heavy
For mere fingertips

What, oh what is a girl to do
When all she is can think about
Is blue?

To drain from my longing
The sound of your laugh
Is like pouring the ocean
Into a glass

The spirit is willing
The flesh is weak
I cradle your memory
Against my cheek

What, oh what is a girl to do
When all she is able to be
Is blue?

Moments compile
Like they don’t even care
That history expands
Twixt my ‘here’ and your ‘there’

To dance with a memory
Is bittersweet bliss
But it isn't the same
Without your kiss

Blue, blue, blue,
What, oh what is a girl to do
When all she is able to touch
Is blue?

Redeeming Love

Bound by sin's dark chains
Condemned and doomed stood I
No chance of hope remained
As Justice raised her cry
“Only, only death for thee
No hope, no hope to be set free,”
But then came One with head bowed low
He said to Justice “let her go”
Oh, who is this who took my place
With crimson teardrops on His face?

The King of kings and Lord of lords
No higher title can there be
When Justice raised her righteous sword
Somebody took my place for me
Oh, my Lord, who could he be?
Who cared enough to set me free?
I raised my head to hear these words
The King of kings and Lord of lords

I fell upon the ground
As Justice screamed her plea
No reason could be found
That I should be set free
“Guilty, guilty,” was her cry
Her lone verdict “she must die,”
But then came One with head bowed low
He said to Justice “let her go”
Tell me, tell me who could this be
Who loved enough to set me free?

The King of kings and Lord of lords
No higher throne will ever be
To describe, there are no words
To paint this holy deity
The King of kings and Lord of lords
A pure and spotless Lamb was He
The King of kings and Lord of lords
Bore sin’s most wretched curse for me

‘The King of kings and Lord of lords
The best that ever there will be
The King of kings and Lord of lords
Has paid the price to set men free’

Whispers

There is a song that I would like to hear
once more, my dear with you
but death is long; life short I fear
for all we seek to do
Time and miles in silent smiles
may weave their  latent chain
Creating the impression of
faint shadows on the wind ...
....a wisp of everything that might have been

In every hour a small eternity
of thoughts and wishes bleed
I do not have the power, dear
to withdraw hope from need
And when the night of pale moonlight
is low and long and and deep
I write those things that I must write
in memories to keep
…the echo of those things that might have been

Time marks our footprints on the sands
of silent history
With every heartbeat tugging strands
of present-tense from me
Directing our feet forward
While our eyes should do the same
But in the midnight portal
I hear echoes breathe my name
…and speak of everything that might have been

Everything that might have been,
Dear love, may yet still be
The whisper of tomorrow’s hymn
 A begging mystery
And so the song I want to hear
In retrospect still plays
Across the dark blue atmosphere
A thousand yesterdays
…extol a melody of things to be

Where Would I Be?

Where would I be?
My fumbling thought
Seeks to express
My love, oh God
Nothing of worth
Have I to bring
To show my love
For you, my King

Upon this broken
Void of sin
Its grief would quench
True joy within
But then one thought
Occurs to me
Without Your love
Where would I be?

Tempted and tried
Lord, I would stray
Without Your light
To lead the way
Your mercy beams
Across the night
Where would I be
Without Your light?

Seasons and stars
Heed your command
And yet You hold
My shameful hand
As every sin-stain
You erase
Where would I be
Without Your grace?

Oh Lord, I have
One gift to bring
Accept the praises
That I sing
For living Hope
Has set me free
Without Your love
Where would I be?

Janet
But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy,
made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions
—it is by grace you have been saved.
And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus,
in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus.
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—
not by works, so that no one can boast.
For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Eph. 2:4-10

No Way...

There’s no way we can go back
No way to leap ahead
Life can be a winding track
Of temporal hope and dread
But it’s not so bad…
‘Cause I’m sure glad I know you
An’ I’m sure glad we met
An’ I’m sure glad I love you
Darling, I’m never gonna let
You go…

Life is unpredictable
In the middle of a sunny day
Storm clouds roll across the sky
An’ steal the sun away
Oh, that’s when I say…
I’m sure glad I know you
Darling, I’m sure glad we met
Oh, you know I’m gonna love you
An’ I’m never gonna let
You go

Circumstance is temporary
Moments come to pass
And all of joy or sorrow
Soon will wither like the grass
The only thing that lasts
Is the love we share together
Since the day that we first met
And I know it will weather
Every day; because I’ll never let
You go

Let the years and seasons roll
I will never let
You go...
It's the way of love
You know
And that is why
I will never let
You go...

About Us

There are so many things I know nothing about
And I won’t pretend that I do
It would be pointless to write them out
For everyone to view
But it’s all right, I’m not complaining
Because I know a thing or two
About the things that are really important
…I know about me and you

I know how the world drifts past our window
When everyone is asleep
And I know that counting kisses
Are better than counting sheep
I know how you evoke within me
A new kind of poetry
And you know exactly how to provoke me
To near insanity

Darling, I don’t know the ‘what’ or the ‘why’
But oh, I know the ‘who’
Scholars may study their books a mile high
I prefer me and you
I know what you whisper without a word
And what you say to me
With your suggestive eyes half-closed
In quiet intimacy

And I know how the willow tree
Sings our favorite lullaby
How the moonlight gets to me
Reflected in your eye
There’s something about the color blue
That makes me melt like the snow
Oh darling, I know about me and you
And that’s all I need to know

The Music of Life...

The music of life is a wonderful song
Sung by the moments that ease us along
I caught an eighth-note when you looked at me
With eyes as blue as the deep rolling sea
And the lilt in your voice and the warmth in your smile
Is a beautiful ballad in life’s lonesome mile

Sweep me into your arms, oh my dear
There’s a song in the stars, and the morning is near
Here in the timbre of midnight’s dark sky
Trembles a love song as soft as your sigh
Warm as the summer, yet wild as the breeze
Strumming the grasses and tossing the trees

The music of life is a rare melody
Oh, how I love when you sing it with me
A ballad of whispers and wild winds and lips
As fleeting as the moment on our fingertips
Written in sonnets of laughter and tears
A love song of wishes and memories and years

Come, oh my darling, may I have this dance?
I feel the longing in your true-blue glance
As we move to the music of love’s symphony
The night falls around us in rich harmony
Come oh my darling, what more can I say
It takes more than the ocean to keep you away

Just Plain Old Loving You....

Sometimes my heart still skips a beat
I hear your name, oh, love is sweet
Even though you’re far away
I know it has to be this way

Daylight falls across the lawn
Night-bird calls….and then the dawn
So it goes; time ticks away
I’ll hold you close again someday

It does not matter where you are
You’re not really very far
Even though we are apart
I hold you close within my heart

With You

I’ll take the gray sky day, or blue
Because every day is beautiful
With you
It doesn’t matter what colors you choose
It makes no difference what shades you use
Every day is beautiful
With you

I know it seems we prefer blue skies to gray
But whatever You choose, God, we’ll be okay
With You
You are the same God in the rain
As You are when the sky is clear blue again
Every day is beautiful
With You
Oh yes, every day is beautiful with You

Forgive me when I forget who You are
I would be nothing without You, Lord
With You
I can be anything You want me to be
Because I have the power of You within me
So every day is beautiful
With you
Oh God of heaven, I know it’s true
You hold the clouds and the sunshine too
Oh, every day is beautiful
With You
Yes, every day is beautiful with You

Janet~

This morning the sky was an evolving panorama
of splendor and moodiness....Stunning!
A metaphor of sorts....

Roll on, Raging River

Nothing stays the same forever
Time is but a flowing stream
Roll on, roll on raging river
You can never steal my dream
No, you can never steal my dream

Which way the road will dip or bend
No one ever really knows
But darling, if you are my friend
It won’t matter where it goes
No, it won’t matter where it goes

There must always be dreamers
With star-dust in their eyes
This world is full of schemers
Ready with their tainted lies
Ready with their tainted lies

But they cannot steal our dream, love
Though time is a ruthless thief
It cannot steal the stars gleam above
Or the heart of true belief
Or the heart of true belief

Nothing stays the same forever
If it did love could not grow
Roll on, roll on, raging river
Love is not lost in your flow
No, love is not lost in your flow

I Know That You Know It.......

I know that you know it
But I’ll tell you any way
There are a million reasons
For these words that I say
You’re a gift from heaven
Oh, I know it’s true
And I know that you know it
Darling, I love you

I can’t find one reason
God would give you to me
But He did, and I’m so glad
Oh, I hope you can see
These are not just words
Breathed into the blue
It’s so deep it hurts
Darling, I love you

Where this road leads
Only One can know
But if you are with me
Let the wild wind blow
Words to a love song
Perfect and true
I know that you know it
Darling, I love you

Ballad of the Wind......

A trickle from the stars above
Draws a tear into my eye
It’s a tender song of love
And sometimes it makes me cry
I can hear upon its moan
Words like ‘gone’ and ‘missing you’
In its rippling undertone
I can hear the color blue……
Ballad of the wind

Seems to me there’s going to be
A continual encore
Music of a rolling sea
Or waves upon a distant shore
And I’m thinking that this song
Can not find a way to end
I will listen all night long
It’s become a sort of friend…….
Ballad of the wind

It’s a chuckle and a sigh
A ripple, and a rush, a roar
It’s ‘hello darling’ and ‘good-bye’
But oh, I think it’s so much more
Its ‘do you really need to go?’
‘When will I see you again?’
I hear the music start to blow…….
In the ballad of the wind
Oh, ballad of the wind

It’s a lonesome lullaby
Crooning from the star-strewn hill
It’s a love song from the sky
Pleading when the night is still
I would dance a little while
On some cold and darkened plain
To the music of your smile
And the ballad of the wind
Oh, the ballad of the wind
