Awed Altar-call

Countless crowds throng beaches the world over,
where front-row, no-charge seating to the greatest show on earth,
 draws young and old to behold the heaven's declaring the glory of God..

Psalm 19:1-4
The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of His hands.
2Day after day they pour forth speech;
night after night they reveal knowledge.
3Without speech or language,
without a sound to be heard,a
4their voiceb has gone out into all the earth,
their words to the ends of the world.c

For what may be known about God is plain to them,
because God has made it plain to them.
For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities,
His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen,
being understood from His workmanship,
so that men are without excuse.

...hopefully an awesome awareness of  'No Excuse'
kindles in our hearts and souls a kind of altar-call
to recommit our wants and ways to the Creator of the world
and everything/everyone in it!
In His Word we find everything we need

Come, Holy Spirit kindle, through the power of Thy Word
A fire of desire to labour for Thee, O Lord
For Thou art near and dearly with each soul who seeks Thy will
Who strives with earnest diligence faith’s calling to fulfill

Lord, let our love for Thee and not the world, consume this clay
In sky and land and sea since the creation of the world

…so that all are without excuse; the universal tongue
Of the heavens declares thy glory to both old and young
Day after day, night after night without language or speech
To the ends of the earth, not one escapes the heavens reach

Our Father who art in heaven, Thy kind goodness grants
Sufficient grace to help us face and bear the circumstance

Lord, wake in us an earnest ache Thy glory to behold
Let Thy cause be the constant sake that draws and fills faith’s mold

A-a-ah! Awe-Aura or Tribute to Twilight

When the eastern skyline looks like this at dusk
then I know something pretty spectacular is going on in the west!

I ran upstairs and sure enough...

so I dashed downstairs, grabbed a coat,
jumped into boots and hurried behind the house...

and even in that mere minute
some of Farewell's flare was beginning to fade...

(Yes! I'll take the teaser!
although I confess there are times I wish I could snap my fingers,
say abracadabra,
and make the buildings disappear for a little,
then snap them again and put them back😅)

Time’s aura of farewell
fills up
the stillness of the sky
an artist spills
to hill and dell
a pastel lullaby
the aftermath of day
composes poetry
sublime
yet without parchment page
or merge of syllable
and rhyme
on a canvas
devoid of substance
flaming strokes
release
to awe onlookers
with the gift
 of
One More
Masterpiece

Pure Majesty

Another wonder-thunder of a sunset!!

Without a sound heavens thunder
Wonder’s oceanic surge
Rolls through frames of hope and hunger
As sight and faith’s fathoms merge

Where the air without a brushstroke
On a canvas without bounds
Showcases majestic artwork
That always awes and confounds

And draws eyes from earthward viewing
To the heights beneath God’s feet
Waking with His wordless wooing
Wordless worship, pure and sweet

Fringe Benefits

Thought's
grand landscapes
of desire
cannot compete with
The One
who sets
welkin worlds afire
with the
setting of the sun

Want's
wildest imagination
Pales
beneath the
 Breath of He
Who evokes
pure adoration
From fringes of
Majesty

Psalm 19

I was going to share only the familiar first verse
but couldn't stop reading...Hallelujah!!

The heavens declare the glory of God;

the skies proclaim the work of his hands.

2Day after day they pour forth speech;

night after night they reveal knowledge.

3They have no speech, they use no words;

no sound is heard from them.

4Yet their voice b goes out into all the earth,

their words to the ends of the world.

In the heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun.

5It is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber,

like a champion rejoicing to run his course.

6It rises at one end of the heavens

and makes its circuit to the other;

nothing is deprived of its warmth.

7The law of the Lord is perfect,

refreshing the soul.

The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy,

making wise the simple.

8The precepts of the Lord are right,

giving joy to the heart.

The commands of the Lord are radiant,

giving light to the eyes.

9The fear of the Lord is pure,

enduring forever.

The decrees of the Lord are firm,

and all of them are righteous.

10They are more precious than gold,

than much pure gold;

they are sweeter than honey,

than honey from the honeycomb.

11By them your servant is warned;

in keeping them there is great reward.

12But who can discern their own errors?

Forgive my hidden faults.

13Keep your servant also from willful sins;

may they not rule over me.

Then I will be blameless,

innocent of great transgression.

14May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart

be pleasing in your sight,

Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.

Heavenly Declaration

A glimpse of I AM!

The heavens declare the glory of God
We gaze, like David did, utterly awed
Worship beholds as an artist unfolds
Purple and fuchsia, coral, pinks and golds
Filling the canvas of west unto east
With a magnificent, free-for-all feast

The heavens declare the glory of He
Who wrought the universe with ‘let there be’
Love pours the pigment of sunrise and set
Before we, who all too quickly forget
Thus, over and over He fills up his tray
And pours out His glory in gorgeous array

The heavens declare to man's common ground
He who by nothing and no one is bound
He drapes the sky with but the Outer Fringe
Of Who suspends earth on time's sacred hinge
Pitiful soul who dares to affront He
Who fills the heavens with His majesty

The heavens declare, what none can deny
The incomprehensible ways of His eye
Oh, what a showcase of His Evidence
We gaze amazed, from our perches of sod
As heavens declare the glory of God

Psalm 19:1-6

The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
2Day after day they pour forth speech;
night after night they reveal knowledge.
3They have no speech, they use no words;
no sound is heard from them.
4Yet their voice b goes out into all the earth,
their words to the ends of the world.
In the heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun.
5It is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber,
like a champion rejoicing to run his course.
6It rises at one end of the heavens
and makes its circuit to the other;
nothing is deprived of its warmth.

Sheer Perfection

The sun as it set seemed to cast the ice-coated trees in coral glaze...
Stunning!

Oh, that lovely, lonely feeling of the twilight slowly stealing
From earth’s coral-coloured ceiling to its shadow-stippled text
Oh, the beauty of the ages when the weight of whispers wages
Wars with nature’s seasoned pages moving from one to the next

Oh, the tender, somber splendor as today’s constant contender
Fills far, endless deeps with grandeur too divine for pen to spell
Where the Lender stuns the spender of the moments that meander
From the height of ‘love-me-tender’ to the depths of ‘fare-thee-well’

Oh the sweet and soulful yearning as the toll of no returning
Keens the whole of love and learning with a hymn of dimming day
Waking a surge of emotion like the breaking of the ocean
Waves on rock-juts of devotion tested by a westward sway

Oh the blushing, rushing wonder roused by silence that can thunder
As Intention’s Pirates plunder ships lost on a dusk-tossed sea
Where gentle ripples of laughter from a firmament-al rafter
Fills the ever-ever-after with a perfect memory

Last night and tonight's dusk called for a poem-serenade...
Tonight I was out on my skis waiting  with bold expectation
for more of what last night treated us with
but a broad band of brumal cloud
snuffed the sun
just as it began to
stun!
...it was still pretty, just not pink!

Vesper...

I snagged a few pics from the front porch because it did not work to dash up the road tonight to get a better view, (due to getting home and quickly packing up hubby's supplies so he could leave... )

On westward shore to evermore the floor of heaven’s threshold gleams
And gathers from the sum of moments that which fueled yester’s dreams
And as the light of day grows dim farewell’s requiem tolls like a bell
It trembles in this cage of skin where soft the silent shadows fell
Then faded into blue on blue until the only thing we see
Are stars on stars on black on black and me with you and you with me

…and sometimes we feel caught between the love of what we have and hope
Where what we had slipped from our hands like the sun slips from far west’s slope
And fingers warm with what they held reach toward what yet waits to fill
The fond farewells that do not tell just how or what echoes will spill
Where the tree etched against pink air captures our gaze then disappears
Like a snuffed blaze into the haze that turns todays to yester-years

The moon lies like a glimmer on a listless lake of ebony
Today glints like a shimmer on the ageless page of memory

Nocturne

Soft as thistle-down the hour
Like a bitty butterfly
Like the petal of a flower
Like the tremor of a sigh
Like the flicker of a candle
Like the shiver of a breeze
Tips its teeny hat, unravels
Leaving only memories

Soft as silver mist the twilight
Gathers to its phantom fold
Frameworks filled with almost-midnight
Caskets filled with gray and gold
Where the dark is like an ocean
Slowly rolling toward shore
Until intangible motion
Swallows up what is no more
